Rite Aid Allergy Deal Money Maker and More
Probably the 1st time in 2 months Rite Aid was worth the trip.
See page 5 of the May Rebate Directory for all the qualifying products. Here is my scenario.
Purchase $50 for a $25 Rite Aid Card
Alaway Eye Itch 10ml $7.99 Use $4/1 from 3/15 or 5/3 Smartsource (SS)
Claritin 10 mg 30 ct $19.99 Use $5/1 from 5/17 SS
Zaditor 5 ml $13.99 Use $3/1 from 5/10 SS

If you don't have these coupons Alaway, Claritin and Zaditor are available on Smartsource.com. Just check with the cashier first to make sure they accept internet printables. Mine has just started.
Total is $51.93. You will have $13 in manufacture coupon taken off your bill. When you enter your reciepts online here you'll receive back by Single Check Rebate $7.99 on Alaway and $3 on Claritin and a $25 Gift Card for the $50 purchase. I picked up a $5 rebate on Zaditor at CVS a few days ago. This results in a $2.06 overage. Even if you don't end up with an overage the few bucks paid is worth it to me for the tissues plus the Alaway has saved me from losing my mind.
Now, I didn't do this because I always forget about the store coupon for $5/$25 purchase. The fine print on the offer says "Rebate based on actual price paid after any & all coupons are used." The deal did work with the manufacture coupons but I don't know what will happen with the store coupon. If it doesn't work you can go buy two more Kleenex if you have to for no extra OOP.

The $6.99 double 12 roll Cottonelle was purchased with a Catalina for $3 off plus I stacked it with a $1/1 manufacture coupon and a $1 double=$1.99 or $.16 per double roll.
I also had a Catalina for $1.50 off an 8 oz bottle of Kraft dressing which came to $.13. I probably could have held off for a sale but I am no longer doing that as much because those pesky coupons have a habit of getting lost and expiring. Recently I have lost the coupon for free Rimmel mascara, 2 Rite Aid gift cards and let $12 in ECBs expire and who knows what else!
I'm also getting into the habit of buying extra papers. Yes, it is $1.50 per newspaper but come back to Free Is Fun often to find out how to put all those extra coupon inserts to work for you!

Free Mars Candy Bar @ Times Square & In USA Today
Besides the fact that Neil Patrick Harris will be in Times Square today giving away Mars candy bars-he also said you can get a coupon for a free bar in the 5/8 USA Today. I doubt I will be going out for either but maybe the coupon will be released elsewhere. I'll keep you posted.

My Dog's 15 Year {Near} Family Reunion
Yesterday I took my old dog Fred to a Rabies Clinic in our town. A man with a 4 year old English Setter said Fred was the same color as his other English Setter at home. I told him Fred was 15 years old. He said his dog was 15 too. Then his daughter said the dog was born on April 1st. I said so was Fred! As it turns out he bought the 2nd to last dog in the litter and I bought the last. The lady showed me a pic of this dog whose name I can't remember. We talked a little about how great the dogs were, what type of hunters they were, how difficult it was to groom the dogs, and their current weight.
I was asked if we exchanged numbers or anything like that and the answer was no. I'm not sure what we would actually do. However, if they had been members of Youpet.com we could keep in touch, swap pics and stories.
