Bank of America Giving Back Some of the Money It Scammed From You

I just read here about the class action lawsuit involving Bank of America, it's debit cards and fees charged to the users. As I read the article and settlement document I was reminded of friends who had complained about this practice. Well it looks like we may be able to get some recuperation, $78 worth.

Here is some of the fine print but read the article because it also includes Fleet Bank, N.A., LaSalle Bank N.A. or LaSalle Bank Midwest N.A., or United States Trust Company, N.A. These banks were probably all bought by BOA.

To receive a payment, you must be a member of the Settlement Class.
You are a member of the Settlement Class if at any time between December 6, 2000 and December 31, 2007, you resided in the United States; AND:
1. Had an account at Bank of America accessible through a Bank of America debit card; AND
2. Satisfy at least one of the following two requirements --
• Paid at least one insufficient funds fee, overdraft fee, returned item fee, or similar fee, that was assessed to
your account within five business days after a Bank of America debit card transaction either occurred or
posted to the account; OR
• Paid at least one overlimit fee, or similar fee, that was assessed for an account cycle in which a Bank of
America debit card transaction either occurred or posted to your account.
